Michael McIntyre

Michael McIntyre

Michael McIntyre is one of the most well known British comedians of this century, (the 21st, in case you forgot). Most people will know him for his Chinese grin, girly laugh and special walking style. He was born in Merton, in South-West London, and then raised in Hampstead. His dad was a Canadian entertainer, Ray Cameron, who worked with many British comedians like Barry Cryer and Kenny Everett. His mum, Kati,  was half British, half Hungarian, and was a dancer. His parents split when he was seven, and both remarried, but unfortunately his dad died age 53 of a heart attack. He married Kitty Ward in 2003, the only woman he actually managed to string a conversation with, who he fancied, and together they have had two children, Lucas and Oscar, who he regularly includes in his shows. He has done a Live at the Apollo show three times and has had his own shows, Hello Wembley! and Live and Laughing. He has written an autobiography, Life and Laughing, which is well worth a read, and has just started his autumn tour of England and Ireland 2012, which I am going to (woohoo!).

The Ones You Know or Should Know.

  • The Man Drawer: a sketch where McIntyre talks about the special drawer in the house that every man must have.

    • The Walks Routine: McIntyre talks about the best, and easiest, way to get around.

    • No Juice: I think if you say these, the first words of Oscar McIntyre, you will get the idea. (hint: racism)
